A pregnant woman died in Badaidiha village of Sharda Nagar police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri. On Tuesday morning his body was found hanging from the ceiling of the room. The in-laws were talking about the pregnant woman committing suicide by hanging herself. On the other hand, people from the maternal side have filed a case of dowry death against the husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law. the police has started to investigate.
The body of Bitta alias Chhoti (23), wife of Ankul, resident of Badhidiha village of Shardanagar police station area, was found hanging from a hook in the room in a suspicious condition on Tuesday morning. She was a few months pregnant. Vishnupal, brother of the deceased, resident of Dakhiya Karanpur of Fardhan police station area, told that on May 9, 2023, his sister was married with great pomp. Items worth about eight lakh rupees were given in dowry including bike, cooler, fridge, washing machine, one and a half lakh cash. Within a few days of the marriage, her in-laws started harassing her for additional dowry.
Alleged that he also beat me several times. After getting the information, she explained it to her brother-in-law and his parents, but they kept harassing her. Two days ago, my sister had gone to a relative’s function. She was silent there. The news of his death on Tuesday morning shocked everyone.
Naib Tehsildar Dinesh Kumar inspected the spot and took statements of the family members. Shardanagar police station in-charge Brijesh Kumar Maurya said that the dead body of a pregnant woman was found hanging from a hook. Post mortem of the dead body has been done, only after this the situation will become clear. On the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case is being registered against her husband Ankul, brother-in-law Ankit, mother-in-law Sharda and father-in-law Magne Lal under various sections including dowry death.
